HEAD OF RETAIL- NYC
Reporting into US Brand Commercial President

NYC based with travel to store locations across the US market, supporting the retail sales and profit budgets within stores through the implementation of brand-specific operational programs, policies and procedures, participation in buy process, analysis of and recommendations on business trends and needs, and provision of support and direction to store teams.

Acts as a positive role model to store employees, representing home office and brand-specific values and continuously developing Store personnel. Exercises discretion and independent judgment in the day to day management over key functional areas. The above is the primary focus of the job role (comprising 65%, or more, of your work week). Responsibilities:

  • Ensures legal compliance requirements are implemented and monitored where required
  • Plans of day to day and annual work flow for self and team
  • Establishes priorities and team objectives; Sets sales targets for team
  • Directs team’s work, ensures it is delegated and apportioned accordingly to optimize output
  • Ensures consistent management focus on Staff Customer Service standards, Clienteling, Sales Generation and Product Flow.
  • Analyze store KPI’s and performance to ensure goals are met and maintained. Offer direction to achieve performance goals
  • Reviews stores’ schedules weekly with management to ensure appropriate coverage and payroll management
  • Ensures store management achieves expense budgets through monitoring and controlling all stores’ controllable expense items.
  • Reviews profit and loss reports monthly with area store managers and develops action plans to address expense controls as needed and sales
  • Participates in all aspects of new store opening operations, including recruiting and training store associates, co-coordinating store opening logistics, and working with store opening team to ensure store is fully operational for an on-time store opening.
  • Generate trend reports for key stores, analyze the data on a store and product level and make recommendations to drive the business
  • Make recommendations on product performance, sell-thru and consolidations to Retail Manager to maximize product/store potential; Recommends consolidation/ re-balancing to maximize store profitability.
  • Strategizes and implements plans to improve customer service standards in all stores
  • Performs regular store visits to assess opportunities and develop appropriate action plans with management team.
  • Performs regular Store Visit Overviews in area stores to identify Loss

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

Educational/Training Requirement:

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field preferred

Experience

  • Minimum 10 years retail experience with at least 3-5 years of retail multi-level management within luxury segment
  • Experience working with international brands is a plus

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Extremely strong communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Ability to meaningfully interact with HQ points of contact
  • Ability to multi-task in a dynamic, ever changing environment
  • Operational mindset, highly-organized project manager

Salary range $140-$180K (pay aligned with experience)
