Retail Buyer
Men’s buyer need for integral member of global team and North American retail business lead, driving the development and delivery of seasonal merchandise assortments for an Italian Heritage mutli-category brand looking to build US channel (brick-and-mortar, exclusive pop-ups).
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Manages an extensive seasonal product line consisting of vertical and licensed merchandise in direct collaboration with Italy HQ to ensure global brand equity, alignment and consistency.
- Participates to the sales campaign for the direct seasonal collections and capsules, and defines the correct order and assortment for stores bases on budget, market trends and opportunities, client target.
- Manages all domestic licensee partnerships and communication (including outreach to new prospective vendors/distributors) with a focus on correct order and assortment for the stores, order terms and timely delivery.
- Oversees the consistent flow of inventory into stores based on selling needs and marketing initiatives, and manages proper and timely replenishments to ensure the correct assortment and the sales results.
- Built and introduced weekly standardized reporting to support ongoing analysis of sales trends, sell-out and sell-through, key items, vendor profitability, aged inventory.
- Executes the necessary operations in the system, i.e. product information/database creation and maintenance, order filling and shipments, PO and ASN creation and management, price list database and updates, promo included.
- Leads and executes strategic merchandising initiatives and responsible for setting sales and profit at pop-up events.
- Collaborates with visual and marketing counterparts to ensure Brand stories and campaigns are implemented at the store level each season.
- Visits Store markets monthly to understand customer needs and opportunities. Coaches store staff on product knowledge topics.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
Educational/Training Requirement:
- Bachelor’s degree in related field
Experience
- 3+ years of retail merchandising experience
- Experience working with international brands is a plus
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Extremely strong communication skills (verbal and written)
- Ability to meaningfully interact with retail stores and HQ points of contact
- Ability to multi-task in a dynamic, ever changing environment
- Highly proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to travel frequently, as required.
