What do you love most about recruiting for the retail industry?

I have always loved retail and have worked in this industry on both sides having been a District Manager previously to my passion of my current role as a recruiter in the luxury sector of retail.  Recruiting allowed me to still be in the retail space and to make a difference for candidates and brands by finding the right talent who will improve results for our clients.  I still love coming to work every day and continue to feel passion in my career, talking to these amazing leaders to secure the right talent for any project that I work on.

 

How do you stay productive during this work from home period?

I have the same routine and continue with my outreach in speaking and emailing candidates. I am also continuing to apply my industry experience to working within spaces of e-comm and wholesale, building my contacts there. I am lucky to have made so many connections that I value and I am doing my best to connect with them as many have been furloughed or layed off and they need to know that we are there, keeping them updated. We are a community and right now it is all about compassion and information to our valued clients and candidates.

 

Where would we find you when you are not working?

Like many of you it is about family and friends and I am grateful for Facetimes and Zoom to stay connected.  I also long to visit HomeGoods, and home décor boutiques or antique stores.  I love decorating my home which is over 100 years old and I am keeping busy changing things up with the seasons or gardening in my yard.  You may find me at our campfire at night with a cocktail in hand.  I am enjoying my time there…

 

What is one item you cannot live without?

Hair products….this girl has curly hair so they are a necessity for me!

 

Best advice you can give to someone right now?

Try your very best at being a better human being each day.   Take some time to better yourself in some way, exercise, learn something new and do something not only for yourself but someone else.  Stay safe, respect others space and stay connected as brighter days are ahead for you!
